Delegates and Delegations in middle and high school are eligible for many different types of recognition at the Topeka Model United Nations Conference.
Middle and High School students are able to earn 1st, 2nd, 3rd place recognition for Outstanding Delegate and Outstanding Delegation. These students are awarded medals and recognized during the Closing Ceremony. Independent judges decide on final rankings.
All students are eligible to receive Outstanding Speech Award in their assigned council. These students will receive certificates from the council president and recognition at the Closing Ceremony. Council officers are responsible for determining these awards.
All Topeka Model United Nations Officers are eligible for the Outstanding Officer Award. This officer will receive a medal and recognition at the Closing Ceremony. Model United Nations sponsors select this recipient.
Delegations are eligible for an Outstanding Position Paper Award. Position Papers will be awarded to one delegation representing 7th grade, 8th grade, and HS students. Interested delegations should submit their position paper to TMUN for consideration via school sponsor. Use the following rubric when writing your position papers. (rubric to come)
The Jenay Weekly Service Award is awarded to the Model United Nations club that exhibits service, dedication, and integrity either to their community and/or TMUN. All Model United Nations Clubs are eligible for this award. All members of the school's club will receive a certificate and the winning school will receive a permanent plaque to display. Also, a traveling plaque will be awarded to the school for temporary display. The school sponsor and students will receive the award and recognition at the Closing Ceremony. This award is bestowed by the Topeka Model United Nations Executive Officers.
Model United Nations Clubs interested in applying for the Jenay Weekly Service Award should submit an application and are encouraged to submit a brief response to any three (3) of the following criteria listed below the contact information.
